Pendle Ski Club, a dry ski slope in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire, joined forces with the Liverpool School Sport Partnership this weekend to provide a superb ski competition tailored to meet the special needs of children and adults with learning difficulties.

Fifty competitors of all ages and abilities from groups all around the country including  the Ribble Valley, Liverpool, Burnley, Chorley, Ormskirk, Rawtenstall and the West Midlands enjoyed ahighly competitive yet fun day out on the side of Pendle Hill in Lancashire.

The technical support from Pendle Ski Club race organisers, in this different field of work, was outstanding and deserved the accolades given by Keith Parrish, Technical Director for Special Olympic Skiing UK.

At the presentation and closing ceremony, competitors, staff, parents, carers and helpers all reflected on what had been a tremendous day. The competition was hard fought, the successes of everyone were celebrated and new friendships were forged.

Liverpool School Sport Partnership and Pendle Ski Club now hope that this will become an annual event, continuing to provide outstanding competition for people with learning difficulties from near and far
